The story of Chai is an ancient one. It was first blended some 5000 years ago in the royal courts of India and Siam (Thailand). Culinary historians believe spices and teas were blended both for flavor and medicinal purposes. According to Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, each of the spices used in Chai has a unique benefit for health.

Over the years, as Chai’s popularity grew, many savory varieties were developed. We’ve sourced the best recipes we could find and packed them in pyramid teabags for whole leaf brewing. Enjoy.

Cochin Masala Chai

Cochin Masala spice is a cooking staple in Southern India. Traditionally this spectacular chai would have been brewed using milk instead of water. A similar effect however, can be created by brewing pyramid chai in the usual fashion and finishing with warm milk.

Tasting notes: Full-bodied tea enhances South Indian masala spices. The finish has cardamom notes peeking out from lively ginger. Superb with milk and sugar.
