Like single malt Scotch, estate teas are unblended, pure examples of production from individual tea gardens. Each tea exhibits the unique characteristics of the terroir in which it was grown, the season in which it was plucked, and the style in which it was produced.
Across the board, we pride ourselves on working only with estates that maintain excellent track records of social responsibility, fair business policies, and sustainable environmental practices. A virtual newcomer on the international tea scene, tea was only introduced to Kenya after India gained independence in 1947. In that year, a number of British planters left India for this East African nation and built an industry that now produces almost 50% of all tea consumed in the UK. Kenyan teas are known for a robust, malty character that makes them excellent breakfast teas. We proudly present to you the best the country has to offer, received via Mombasa and vacuum-packed for purity in Canada.

Kambaa tea factory, commissioned in 1974, manufactures tea supplied by roughly 5400 small-scale tea farmers in the Nandi Highlands. Finished quality is rigidly controlled by the Kenya Tea Development Agency. The results of this control are plain to see in this malt-driven BP1. Excellent.
Tasting notes: Very malty flavor tending light hints of currant. With milk the cup is bright golden and inviting.
