CARING FOR GLASS TEAPOTS

First time use
Hand wash your new glass teapot thoroughly before use

Daily use
  • When using glassware take care to warm up and cool down the pot gradually to prevent cracking.
  • After use, empty remaining tea and give the teapot and spout a good rinse.
  • Glass teapots may be washed in a dishwasher, but we recommend hand washing to prevent pitting and the creation of permanent watermarks.
  • Dry thoroughly to prevent watermarks. (Similar to a wine glass.)
  • If your teapot becomes heavily soiled from repeated use, wash with a non-abrasive cleaning product and rinse thoroughly.

CAUTION
  • Never place a glass teapot directly over a heat source other than the warmer provided with some models.
  • These teapots are designed to take direct heat up to 450° Farenheit (F) or 200° Celsius (C). What is mandatory, is to make sure there is water or tea in the teapot. Why? Water boils at 212° F or 100° C, while open flame and electrical elements may go higher than 450° F or 200° C. Therefore the water or tea keeps the temperature within a safe temperature range.
  • Never let your teapot boil dry
  • Take care never to place a hot glass teapot on a cold or wet surface – glass can crack due to rapid cooling.
  • Never wash your glass teapot with a scouring pad. Doing so may leave permanent scratches.
