When your customers ask for teas that won’t keep them awake at night point them toward the finest decaf loose teas ever produced. Our decaf teas are so good they’ve actually fooled professional tea tasters into believing they were unaltered.
What makes them so good?
Premium quality seasonal teas. Unlike
many tea companies that use inferior grades to create decaf,
we make ours using premium quality seasonal teas. As well,
we have a strict no chemical policy rigidly
enforced in the tea factories of all of our suppliers. No chemicals
mean no aftertaste!
Our teas are decaffeinated naturally in one of two ways.
- Canadian Chemical Free CO2 Process. This unique process uses pure water to naturally decaffeinate teas while leaving in the flavor. Finished tea is briefly soaked in pure water and flushed with CO2 that binds to the caffeine molecules and pulls them out of the tea.
- Green Leaf Process. In this process the tea is decaffeinated in the green leaf stage before processing. Again, pure water is used instead of harsh chemicals.
Interestingly, tea gets its flavor and color from naturally occurring proteins that are untouched during both of these processes. Caffeine goes out - flavor and color stay in.
